Volleyball Game Preview: Evergreen Valley Cougars vs. Piedmont Hills Pirates + How To Watch

The Evergreen Valley Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Piedmont Hills Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Evergreen Valley's tournament run continued when they took on Leland on Saturday. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The Cougars have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Hills came up short against Branham on Tuesday and fell 3-1. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bruins 25-21 in the first set.

Piedmont Hills started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-20.

Evergreen Valley will have to contain Katelyn Young as she made an impact in Piedmont Hills' last game. She had four digs and four aces. Erika Liberato also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Piedmont Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Evergreen Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
