Southern Choctaw triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Marcionna Young

Recap: Southern Choctaw Indians vs. Marengo Panthers
The Southern Choctaw Indians waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Marengo with a 33-28 victory. This was a revenge game for Southern Choctaw, as the team was forced to settle for a 36-26 defeat when these two played two weeks ago.
Marcionna Young was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with three steals. Young is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Keri Mcgee, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Southern Choctaw's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Marengo, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Choctaw and Choctaw County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Choctaw County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Wednesday. As for Marengo, they will head out on the road to face off against Sweet Water at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sweet Water is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
