Baseball Recap: Clay County Bulldogs vs. Gordonsville Tigers
Clay County had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 9-15 to make it five. They came up short against the Gordonsville Tigers, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
As for Gordonsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Considering they have won 14 matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
For Gordonsville's part, J. Foster was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Foster is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tucker Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
As of now, neither Clay County nor Gordonsville have any future games scheduled.
