Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Allie Elliott and Ava Burkle Lead Rossville to Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Rossville rose to the challenge on Friday. They strolled past the Frontier Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 52-33. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-37 back in January.

Rossville was led to victory by Ava Burkle and Allie Elliott. Burkle dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards, while Elliott posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Burkle is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Caydence Robey, who put up five points and three steals.

Rossville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Frontier lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ashlyn Minniear, who earned 13 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. That was a full 39.4% of Frontier's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyson Mears, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Rossville and bumps their season record up to 15-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Frontier, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.

Rossville has already played their next contest, a 43-38 defeat against Carroll on the 8th. Frontier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
