Basketball Recap: Eastern Randolph Drops Season-High Score on Wheatmore

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastern Randolph). They put the hurt on the Wheatmore Warriors with a sharp 87-62 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

Eastern Randolph's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Timothy Brower, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Brower's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Camden Jones was another key player, going 7 of 11 from beyond the arc to rack up 27 points.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Weston Driggers, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 14 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. Those six assists gave Driggers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Kines, who went 7 of 12 en route to 18 points and five boards.

Eastern Randolph's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Wheatmore, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Eastern Randolph has already played their next game, an 83-73 defeat against Lexington on the 1st. As for Wheatmore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-46 loss against West Davidson on the 5th.
