Softball Recap: Eight Straight Road Wins for Austintown-Fitch

While Austintown-Fitch put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Harding. The Falcons put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 11 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Morgan Roby was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Alyssa Rodgers was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

Austintown-Fitch hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.

Austintown-Fitch's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Harding, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Austintown-Fitch will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
