Baseball Recap: Converse Takes a Loss

Converse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stanley Panthers. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Cameron Durr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Converse's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-13. As for Stanley, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9.

Coming up, Converse will square off against Oak Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stanley, they will face off against Florien at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
