Flag Football Game Preview: Cesar Chavez Champions vs. Tolleson Wolverines + Official Tickets

The Cesar Chavez Champions will challenge the Tolleson Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Tolleson's offense is going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Cesar Chavez hadn't allowed a single point the last four times they've hit the field. The Champions blew past Camelback 64-0 on Tuesday. The Champions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cesar Chavez's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamiya Jones, who picked up 110 receiving yards, and also rushed for 30 yards. Jones was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 60 yards.

Meanwhile, Tolleson made easy work of South Mountain on Thursday and carried off a 30-7 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

A big part of Tolleson's win came down to the chemistry between Clemmonique Cheatham and her top target Trinity Preciado. Cheatham picked up 166 receiving yards and three TDs while Preciado threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Those 166 receiving yards gave Cheatham a new career-high.

Tolleson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cheatham and Carly Garcia.

Cesar Chavez's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Tolleson, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Cesar Chavez strolled past Tolleson when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a score of 36-19. Will the Champions repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
