Football Recap: Colstrip Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Colstrip lost against Shepherd back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Colts had to suffer through a 50-18 loss at the hands of the Mustangs. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shepherd found their leader in sophomore Caleb Nicholson, who rushed for 121 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, and also threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns while completing 94.4% of his passes. Nicholson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Mustangs' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-5 otherwise. Dominyk Weber also helped with two scores in total.

Colstrip's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Shepherd, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Colstrip does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shepherd, they will head out on the road to face off against Huntley Project at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 946 yards in their previous games.
