Basketball Recap: Mykah Rimpson Key Part of a Team Effort in Knights Win

DSST: Montview hadn't done well against The Academy recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The DSST: Montview Knights took down The Academy Wildcats 42-27. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 66-19 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2022.

DSST: Montview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mykah Rimpson, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 13 boards, and ten steals. Rimpson is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Josee McKinnis was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 10 points and three steals.

DSST: Montview was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive matchups.

DSST: Montview's record now sits at 4-2. As for The Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

DSST: Montview won't have much time to rest: their next game is against DSST: Cedar at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for The Academy, they will take on Kent Denver at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Academy is facing Kent Denver at the right time seeing as Kent Denver is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
