Carlin suffers sixth straight loss at home

Recap: Carlin Railroaders vs. Round Mountain Knights

The Carlin Railroaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 56-44 to Round Mountain. Carlin has struggled against Round Mountain recently, as their match on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Round Mountain got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keiran Swafford out in front who scored 27 points along with six assists and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Swafford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Blake Bullington, who scored 13 points along with six assists and six steals.

Carlin dropped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.8 points per game. As for Round Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Carlin won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Owyhee at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Round Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge American Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
