Baseball Recap: Eisenhower Finds Home Field Redemption Against San Gorgonio

There's no place like home for Eisenhower, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the San Gorgonio Spartans 4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in March.

Mariano Nicasio made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Nicasio was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Denzel Sahagun looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Eisenhower: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Derek Mendoza, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Eisenhower's record is now 7-8. As for San Gorgonio, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eisenhower beat the Spartans by a score of 8-2 on Friday.
