Baseball Game Preview: Conway Christian Eagles vs. Nemo Vista Red Hawks

Conway Christian is 8-2 against Nemo Vista since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will challenge the Red Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Nemo Vista took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Conway Christian, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Conway Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Bigelow, taking the game 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Eli Brannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Isaiah Brister was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Kendall Willis was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Nemo Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Heber Springs, falling 11-1.

Conway Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.6 runs. As for Nemo Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Everything went Conway Christian's way against Nemo Vista in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Conway Christian made off with a 16-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
