Volleyball Recap: Cocoa Comes Up Short

Cocoa came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Heritage Panthers, falling 3-0. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-10, 25-7.

Eva Vuichard was her usual excellent self, getting five kills and one block for Heritage. Vuichard is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 20 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Layla Crespo-Delgado was another key player, getting nine kills and two assists.

Cocoa dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Heritage, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Coming up, Cocoa will host Space Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they are taking a road trip to take on Brevard HEAT at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
