Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Warriors vs. Red Mountain Mountain Lions

Westwood is 2-8 against Red Mountain since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Westwood Warriors will be playing at home against the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m.

Westwood is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Skyline, falling 62-31. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly 31 points.

Meanwhile, Red Mountain hadn't done well against Mesa recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Red Mountain walked away with a 54-43 victory over Mesa.

Westwood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Red Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Westwood came up short against Red Mountain when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 61-51. Thankfully for Westwood, Connor Craig (who went 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time.
