Softball Recap: Nordhoff Takes a Loss

Nordhoff extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fillmore Flashes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flashes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on April 3rd.

As for Fillmore, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games.

For Fillmore's part, the team relied heavily on Kailyn Pineda, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Pineda a new career-high.

Nordhoff wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-0 win against Carpinteria on the 24th. As for Fillmore, they have also already played their next game, a 4-0 loss against Pacifica on the 23rd.
