Basketball Recap: Frederica Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Westfield School last Saturday, Frederica Academy came back down to earth. Frederica Academy lost to the Heritage Hawks on the road by a 67-50 margin on Monday. Frederica Academy hasn't had much luck with Heritage recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Leading Heritage to victory were Sam Mead and Makari Townsend. Mead went 6 for 12 on his way to 19 points and seven steals, while Townsend went 8 of 10 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. Mead's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Dragg, who posted ten points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Frederica Academy fell to 8-1. As for Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Frederica Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-51 defeat against Lakeview Academy on the 31st. As for Heritage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-48 victory against Stratford Academy on the 31st.
