Columbia Academy never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past the Rocket City Rockets 18-0. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by eight runs or more this season.

Maine Metz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Jacob Woodward was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gunner Skelton, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Columbia Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rocket City only managed two hits.

Columbia Academy's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Rocket City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia Academy will host Middle Tennessee Monarchs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Middle Tennessee Monarchs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Columbia Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rocket City, they will square off against Giles County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
