Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Alcester-Hudson

Alcester-Hudson never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Oldham-Ramona/R Rutland as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cubs in their matchups with the Rutland: they've now won five in a row.

Emma Moller was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Moller was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Alcester-Hudson got a massive performance out of Jenna Manning, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Manning a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Delta Pies, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.

Alcester-Hudson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .633. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.

Alcester-Hudson pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Oldham-Ramona/R, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
