Basketball Recap: Lightridge Has No Trouble Against Millbrook

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Washington-Liberty, Lightridge was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-46 win over the Millbrook Pioneers.

When it comes to explaining why Millbrook lost, don't look at Jaliah Jackson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jackson is becoming a predictor of Millbrook's success: when she posts at least ten rebounds the team is 4-1 (and 1-3 when she doesn't). Jane Moreland was another key player, putting up eight points and five blocks.

Lightridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Millbrook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lightridge will welcome Loudoun Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Millbrook, they will host Skyline at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyline will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Millbrook surely won't give up without a fight.
