Softball Game Preview: Rockcastle County Rockets vs. Lee County Bobcats

The Rockcastle County Rockets will head out to take on the Lee County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rockcastle County has four straight wins, Lee County has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Wednesday, Rockcastle County was able to grind out a solid victory over Somerset, taking the game 4-1.

Meanwhile, Lee County fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Jenkins on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 12-6 to the Cavaliers.

Preslee Cundiff put in work no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off 14 hits. Cundiff was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Billi Brandenburg made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Trinity Price was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Rockcastle County now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Lee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
