Football Recap: Albany Starts Season with Victory Against Stamford

Albany gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 victory over the Stamford Bulldogs. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 349th).

Albany didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Calhan Fairchild and Huffman Heatly.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Albany will square off against Hawley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stamford, they will challenge De Leon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
