Baseball Recap: Jones Comes Up Short

Jones lost against Kenwood on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eagles came up short against the Broncos, falling 12-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 1st.

Jack Condne was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Andres Alfaro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Jones and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Kenwood, the win got them back to even at 5-5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jones will head out to face off against Von Steuben at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Kenwood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Chicago Mt. Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as the Broncos come in on four and the Caravan on eight.
