Softball Recap: Widefield Gladiators vs. The Classical Academy Titans

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Widefield). Everything went their way against The Classical Academy Titans on Saturday as the Widefield Gladiators made off with a 19-9 victory. The result was nothing new for the Gladiators, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Taylor Hall was incredible, going 4-for-6 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI. What's more, she also racked up four hits, the mostshe's had since back in August. Another player making a difference was Mia Hoffpauir, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Widefield didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with nine strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've managed all season.

Widefield pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for The Classical Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.

Widefield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-4 loss against Falcon on the 2nd. The Classical Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 20-0 victory against Mitchell on the 30th.
