Soccer Recap: Appling County Comes Up Short

Appling County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 5-1 to the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 27th).

Appling County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Jeff Davis, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Appling County will head out to face off against Tattnall County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Appling County has given up an average of 3.1 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Jeff Davis, they will venture away from home to take on Berrien at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Jeff Davis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.
