Baseball Game Preview: Lumberton Raiders vs. Vidor Pirates

For the second straight game, Lumberton will face off against Vidor. The Raiders will welcome the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lumberton 3.3, Vidor 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Vidor will be up against a hot Lumberton team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Raiders came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Raiders have beaten the Pirates on their field since March 18, 2022.

For Vidor's part, they got a good showing from Alex Bryant, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Bryant has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lumberton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445.
