Baseball Game Preview: Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots vs. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool

The Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots will head out to challenge Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Christian Home Educators Fellowship gave up the first runs last Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Acadiana Christian 13-4. Considering the Patriots have won nine games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Trevor St. Cyr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, Aaron Taylor was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Steele, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool entered their tilt with Good Samaritan HomeSchool on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 7-3. That's two games straight that Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool has won by exactly four runs.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Tullos, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Christian Home Educators Fellowship has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Christian Home Educators Fellowship took their win against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1 score.
