Recap: Campo Verde Coyotes vs. Williams Field Black Hawks
After a string of four wins, the Campo Verde Coyotes's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 49-37 to Williams Field. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Campo Verde has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Campo Verde lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kelsey Watts. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Watts hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Barnes, who scored nine points.
Leading Williams Field to victory were Latoya Brooks and Savanah Horotn. Brooks scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Horotn scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Horotn's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight.
Campo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Williams Field, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campo Verde will take on Mountain Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Pointe is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Williams Field, they will play host again and welcome Higley, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Higley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
