Volleyball Recap: West Mesa Starts Season with Win on the Road

West Mesa had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Del Norte Knights by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-9, 26-28, 25-20.

West Mesa was led to victory by Kina Dodge and Isabella Garcia. Dodge had 21 digs and five aces, while Garcia had four digs and four aces. What's more, Garcia racked up 23 assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Kianna Joe was another key player, getting six kills and five aces.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Mesa will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Manzano at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Del Norte, they will welcome Albuquerque at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
