Football Recap: Remy Vigne Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Master's Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Melbourne, Cocoa Beach was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Master's Academy Patriots by a score of 27-20. The Minutemen's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Cocoa Beach's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Remy Vigne, who threw for 100 yards and three TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns Vigne has posted since back in September of 2024. Ryan Rogers helped Vigne out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and one score on only seven carries.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Cocoa Beach's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Dorian Nicholson, Charlie Grissom, and Preston Sherrill, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Although Master's Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Jeremiah Pattillo, Kaidin Seelbach, and Banks Swearingen.

The win got Cocoa Beach back to even at 1-1. As for Master's Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Cocoa Beach will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Palm Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Master's Academy, they will head out to square off against Zephyrhills Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
