Section scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 34-33 to the Appalachian Eagles. The Lions lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 41-14 score last time.

Braden Gilliland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Appalachian, rushing for 200 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Gilliland a new career-high. Colton Caldwell helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Section's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Appalachian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Looking ahead, Section will square off against Gaston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Appalachian, they will take on Spring Garden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
