Basketball Recap: Yeiry Zamudio's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Caney Creek over Texas Truth Homeschool

If Caney Creek was riding high fresh off their 57-33 takedown of Kingwood Park on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell 58-53 to the Texas Truth HomeSchool Truth on Saturday.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yeiry Zamudio, who posted 24 points. Jayda Kearney was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Caney Creek has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. Texas Truth HomeSchool's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Caney Creek will take on Magnolia West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Texas Truth HomeSchool, they will take on Franklin in a tournament on Thursday.
