Softball Recap: Jefferson Forest Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for Jefferson Forest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Brookville Bees by a score of 6-1 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Bees: they've now won three in a row.

Amelia Long spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jefferson Forest's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Taya Hall, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Hall has posted since back in May of 2024.

Jefferson Forest's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Brookville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
