Plainview is 1-7 against Lubbock-Cooper since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Plainview Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates at 6:30 p.m. Plainview has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

At the plate, Tatum Southard was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had over her last 13 games. Another player making a difference was McKanna Garcia, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Plainview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Lubbock-Cooper struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
