Volleyball Recap: River Falls Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Delano

River Falls is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Delano. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Amelie Pankonin paced River Falls' offense, picking up 11 kills. Pankonin got some help from Anika Schwartz and her 21 assists.

Delano found their leader in sophomore Braylee Rue, who had 11 digs and one assist.

River Falls moved to 30-6 with that loss, which also ended their six-match winning streak. As for Delano, the victory was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-1.

River Falls didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Barron on the 11th. As for Delano, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Maple Grove on the 11th.
