Basketball Recap: Our Lady of the Sun Academy Piles Up the Points Against Telesis Prep

Our Lady of the Sun Academy entered their tilt with Telesis Prep on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Telesis Prep Tigers 69-38. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-27 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Our Lady of the Sun Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joseph Reiss, who went 9 for 18 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Reiss is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Isaac Ley, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Reiss wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Our Lady of the Sun Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in three consecutive games.

Our Lady of the Sun Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Telesis Prep, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Our Lady of the Sun Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Psalms Learning Center at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Our Lady of the Sun Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 198 points over their last three contests. As for Telesis Prep, they will take on Verde Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
