Softball Recap: Paulding County Gets the Win

Paulding County lost to Hillgrove back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Patriots walked away with an 8-3 win over the Hawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Grace Dempsey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Kylee Stancil was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emeryson Gray, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.

Paulding County now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Hillgrove, they moved to 6-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paulding County will head out to take on Campbell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Hillgrove, they will take on Harrison at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
