Softball Preview: Mission Bay Buccaneers vs. San Diego Cavers
Mission Bay is 3-0 against San Diego since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, both teams will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 4:00 p.m. Mission Bay is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Mission Bay was a bit more limited in their game back in March. They fell 5-2 to Mission Vista.
Indy Beesley and Kiki Sullivan did some serious damage despite the final result: Beesley went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and a double, while Sullivan went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Imanii Poole, who went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run.
Meanwhile, San Diego was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of University City by a score of 8-6.
Diana Martinez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base. Hanna Patterson was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
