The Jefferson County Christian Royals are taking a road trip to square off against the Leetonia Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson County Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Jefferson County Christian gave up the first runs last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Southern by a score of 7-3. Winning may never get old, but the Royals sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

EJ Keener spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Hervey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Carl Bonecutter, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Leetonia kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 12-2 to East.

Jefferson County Christian now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Leetonia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Jefferson County Christian's way against Leetonia in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Jefferson County Christian made off with a 9-3 win. Will Jefferson County Christian repeat their success, or does Leetonia has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
