Softball Recap: St. Mary's Comes Up Short

St. Mary was the 12-2 winner over Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union when they last played one another back in June of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks fell just short of the Royals by a score of 13-12 on Friday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

St. Mary's has already played their next matchup (against Woodbury Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union, they will face off against West Sioux at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.11 runs per game on average), something the Royals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
