Baseball Recap: Dixie Greyhounds vs. Franklin Monroe Jets
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dixie ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Franklin Monroe Jets as they made off with a 16-10 victory. The win continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their matchups with the Jets: they've now won three in a row.
Garrett Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Williams was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.
In other batting news, Dixie let Dillon Phillips and Logan Williams run wild.
