Asya Akar leads Lyndhurst to victory over Dumont

Recap: Lyndhurst Golden Bears vs. Dumont Huskies

The Lyndhurst Golden Bears entered their tilt with the Dumont Huskies with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Lyndhurst skirted past Dumont 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Lyndhurst has posted since January 5th.

It was another big night for Asya Akar, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lyndhurst's points. Another player making a difference was Sam Mayer, who scored 13 points along with six assists and six rebounds.

Lyndhurst has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Dumont, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Lyndhurst will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pascack Hills at 10:30 a.m. on February 10th. Pascack Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Lyndhurst is ranked 117th). As for Dumont, they will head out on the road to face off against Montville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
