Baseball Recap: Canyon Del Oro Snaps 24-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Canyon del Oro dropped their record down to 26-6 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's 24-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Centennial Coyotes by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time the Dorados couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Centennial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.

For Centennial's part, the result came thanks to JT Price's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks. Price has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cohen Baack was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

While Canyon del Oro had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Thursday.
