Softball Recap: Ledyard Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Ledyard never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Woodstock Academy Centaurs. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Centaurs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Alexia Lemmon, who gave up just five hits to keep Woodstock Academy off the board. Lemmon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Faith Dalton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Alana Ninteau also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Ledyard hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matchups.

Ledyard pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Woodstock Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Ledyard and Woodstock Academy will both be playing New London the next time they take the field. The Colonels will host the Whalers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Centaurs will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
