Softball Recap: Laurel Highlands Wins Going Away Against Ringgold

After only two runs in their last game, Laurel Highlands made sure to put some runs up on the board against Ringgold on Tuesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Rams. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Harlie Dirda made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Dirda was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Laurel Highlands got a massive performance out of Chloe Komacko, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kayla Howell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Laurel Highlands was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Laurel Highlands back to even at 2-2. As for Ringgold, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
