Softball Game Preview: Wharton Tigers vs. Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats

The Wharton Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither Wharton nor Bloomington posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Wharton's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Van Vleck on Thursday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Leopards recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Bloomington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-1 to Industrial.

Wharton's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bloomington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Wharton took their win against Bloomington in their previous matchup back in March of 2016 by a conclusive 12-0. Will Wharton repeat their success, or does Bloomington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
