Rock Point came tearing into Saturday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 29-28 photo finish over the BASIS Flagstaff Yetis. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 90-77 win the Yetis walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Daniel Quiroz and Everett Evans certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Quiroz posted 12 points and seven boards, while Evans put up three points and six steals. Evans is becoming a predictor of BASIS Flagstaff's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 6-2 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Alexei Barrow was another key player, putting up five points and five rebounds.

Rock Point pushed their record up to 11-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for BASIS Flagstaff, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.

Rock Point has already played their next contest, a 76-54 loss against Dishchii'bikoh on the 28th. As for BASIS Flagstaff, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-26 win against St. Michael on the 27th.
