Volleyball Recap: Clearfield's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After flying high against Green Canyon on Saturday, Clearfield came back down to earth. The Clearfield Falcons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valor Christian Eagles on Saturday. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Sebastian Rodriguez paced Clearfield's offense, picking up 13 kills. Rodriguez got some help from Steve Serious and his 33 assists. Rodriguez was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Leading Valor Christian to victory were Renn Bailey and Mason Walters. Bailey had 17 assists and eight digs, while Walters had 12 digs. The dominant performance gave Bailey a new career-high in assists.

Clearfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Valor Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Clearfield will challenge Viewmont at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Viewmont's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Valor Christian, they will welcome Grandview at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The match will also give Grandview their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
