Softball Recap: Salinas' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Salinas hadn't done well against Hollister recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cowboys came out on top in a nail-biter against the Haybalers, sneaking past 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Cowboys sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Abi Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Salinas' win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Michaela Singh, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Salinas' victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Hollister, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6-1 record this season.

Salinas wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-2 defeat against Monterey on the 23rd. As for Hollister, they have also already played their next match, a 7-1 win against Watsonville on the 23rd.
