Softball Recap: Pawhuska Huskies vs. Haskell Haymakers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pawhuska had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They skirted past the Haskell Haymakers 5-3. The win was nothing new for the Huskies as they're now sitting on five straight.

Faylee Ferguson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Pawhuska let Maggie Green and Hannah Reynolds loose on the outfield. Green went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double, while Reynolds scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Green a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Emillie Curry, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Pawhuska has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-14-1 record this season. As for Haskell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-18.
